Overview
An Uninterruptible Power Supply (UPS) ensures continuous, reliable, and high-quality power for critical operations and infrastructure. Without a UPS, facilities such as hospitals, manufacturing plants, and public institutions risk power disruptions with potentially catastrophic consequences. This training will guide you through the proper procedure for safely shutting down a UPS system, ensuring it is in an electrically safe condition for maintenance.
What You'll Learn
The primary objective of this course is to provide trainees with the knowledge and skills necessary to operate and maintain UPS systems effectively. Participants will learn:
- How to fill out a Job Safety Analysis (JSA)
- Determine if their environment is safe for work
- Selecting Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)
- Inspecting Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)
- Lockout/Tagout for an Uninterruptible Power Supply (UPS)
- Verify an Uninterruptible Power Supply (UPS) is de-energized
